Akimi Labs Ltd. is a Canadian software consulting and R&D company founded by David and Anissa Agahchen and based in Victoria, British Columbia. Together, we bring decades of experience in artificial intelligence, software architecture, cloud platforms, DevOps, and the delivery of dependable, production-ready systems.
We are building Etcera, based on a novel concept developed by David. Its first product, Etcera Space, brings Attached Intelligence to life through multi-agent AI, private temporal knowledge graphs, and lineage-aware memory that preserves how your understanding evolves over time.
Our work is grounded in a simple belief: technology should support human intention, not override it. Most AI begins with a prompt and ends with an answer. Etcera is designed for continuity, preserving the thread of what matters to you as your understanding changes.

With over two decades of experience in systems architecture, AI, and digital innovation, David served as a lead architect, technical lead, and senior engineer within IBM's Global Business Services division. He holds a Master's in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Waterloo and previously co-founded Verably, a platform serving nonprofit organizations.
David developed the concept of Attached Intelligence and leads the strategic vision and architecture of Etcera, keeping its design grounded in human agency, intention, and continuity.

With nearly two decades of experience across software development, DevOps, and program management, Anissa has led initiatives in academic, government, and startup environments. She holds a Master's in Computer Vision from the University of Victoria and previously co-founded Verably, a platform serving nonprofit organizations.
Anissa leads operations, product strategy, and user experience, translating complex needs into reliable, intuitive workflows and ensuring the platform is scalable, resilient, and deeply human-centered.
In July 2025, we were invited to present at the UN AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva. Our use case was selected as one of 37 winners from 160 accepted submissions spanning 32 countries.
Our winning use case, “Future of Work with Attached Intelligence”, showcased Etcera Space in action, demonstrating how Attached Intelligence can protect personal agency and create meaningful productivity in the workplace.
